Endeavor – Communications, FA Duties, Passenger Handling Practice Exam

The correct procedure after landing requires you to remain in the brace position until the aircraft has turned off the active runway. This protocol is in place to ensure the safety of all passengers and crew in case of an emergency that might occur immediately after touchdown. The rationale behind this is to prepare you to react quickly in the event of an incident, allowing you to stay protected and minimize exposure to any potential risks present right after landing.

Remaining in this position until the aircraft is clear of the runway helps maintain order and ensures that everyone is ready for any further instructions if needed. It is crucial because emergencies can happen right up to the point when the aircraft becomes fully stationary. Other options, such as waiting for specific instructions or until the seatbelt sign is turned off, do not account for the immediate risks associated with being in an accidental scenario on the runway, making the requirement to stay in position until the aircraft is off the runway essential for safety.
